Gilberto Eduardo Gerardo "Gilbert"/"Gibô" Cojuangco Teodoro Jr. was born on June 14, 2009 in Manila. He is the only child of Gilberto Teodoro, Sr. who is the former Social Security System administrator and Mercedes Cojuangco-Teodoro former member of Batasang Pambansa. He accomplished Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from De La Salle University in 1984. In, 1989, he finished his law studies at the University of the Philippines and in the same year he topped the Philippine Bar exams. He went to Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Massachusetts for his Master of Laws and completed it in 1997 and admitted to the State Bar of New York the same year.
He practiced his skills as a lawyer in the EP Mendoza Law firm for seven years. Secretary Gilbert Teodoro is also accredited as commercial pilot and a Colonel in the Philippine Air Force Reserve. He also holds many distinct memberships including the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, UP Alumni Association, UP Law Alumni Association, Harvard Alumni Association and the Harvard Law Alumni Association.
Secretary Teodoro was held as a house representative of the First District of Tarlac from 1998 to 2007. He assumed the position of Assistant Majority Leader in the 11th Congress and head of the Nationalist People's Coalition House members. He was also a member of the House contingent to the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council. In August 2007, he was then appointed as Secretary of the Department of National Defense.
Election Plans for 2010:
To avoid a state of progress plateau, the country needs more innovative ideas to fuel the industry and the economy. The country has exhausted the era of copying and remodeling trends, it is time for something new in order for the country to become more globally competitive. The country needs to generate more ideas. The talents and minds of our countrymen is our greatest resource.
